Harvey Norman hits record profit in Australia

Harvey Norman has delivered another strong year in spite of the Covid-19 crisis, with total revenue up 15.3 per cent to $9.49 billion, and profit after tax up 75 per cent to $841.4 million. Earnings at the furniture and homewares business also spiked during the year, growing 54 per cent to $1.45 billion, with Harvey Norman’s Board recommending a payout of a fully-franked dividend of 15 cents per share.

AusPost lands record revenue, commits to delivering perishables long-term

Mail and logistics firm Australia Post delivered record revenue in FY21 driven by increase e-commerce growth in the retail sector, hitting $8.27 billion. Crocs claims Rivers stole its famous sandal design

US sandal brand Crocs is taking Mosaic Brands’ Rivers to court over a perceived infringement on the trademark of its famous footwear. According to a report in the AFR , Crocs lodged an action against Mosaic Brands in the Federal Court of Australia claiming it has misled and deceived customers by selling ‘fake’ Crocs alongside ‘real’ Crocs, and has “fragrantly disregarded” its trademark to make a profit by using its design.

IKEA Expanding Resale Concept to U.S.

IKEA (Delft, Netherlands) has announced the launch of its Buy Back & Resell service in the U.S., beginning with its Conshohocken, Pa., location. It will run for a limited time from Aug. 30 through Sept. 19, 2021, according to a company press release. The new service will allow shoppers to sell back gently used IKEA furniture.
