Ikea bets on remote interior design as AI changes sales strategy

Ikea is training call centre workers to become interior design advisers as the Swedish furniture giant aims to offer more home improvement services and hand run-of-the-mill customer queries to an artificial intelligence bot called Billie. In April, Ikea expanded its interior design services to the UK and United States, after previous launches in parts of Europe, Australia, the United Arab Emirates and elsewhere.

Park Ridge Town Centre sold for $86 million

A private investor has acquired Brisbane’s Park Ridge Town Centre for $86 million, highlighting the ongoing “appeal” of assets underwritten by non-discretionary retail. The centre spans 14,300sqm, is anchored by Woolworths and Coles supermarkets and accommodates 31 specialty tenancies, including KFC and Ampol. The development was acquired by Perth-based private investors RG Property in 2012 which undertook a major extension to include fuel pad sites, fast food outlets and added a supermarket.
