Odami creates textured minty interior for Aesop Palisades Village store

The Aesop store opened at the end of 2022 in the Palisades, a verdant corner of the city northwest of Santa Monica where several seminal modernist houses are located. The velvet curtain and upholstery fabric is matched to the microcement surfaces, resulting in a monotone texture throughout the small shop.

At just 247 square feet (23 square metres), Medio Pan cafe is just large enough to fit seating, a bar and bookshelves, which are located at the back and front of the store. The seating runs directly into the bookshelf, which expands over the entrance to storage space at the back of the store.

The store is located in Seoul's Gangnam district and was designed by WGNB to reference the graphite used to produce PXG 's golf clubs. Made using powder-coated steel slats, the volumes help to create a sense of lightness and buoyancy within the interior that is further enhanced by the cantilevered display unit at the centre of the store.
