Leading outdoor sportswear brand Helly Hansen has unveiled its new concept store at Chadstone Shopping Centre. The Norwegian brand – which is known for its sailing and ski apparel, workwear and outdoors wear – is stocked in high-end retailers, including David Jones and The Iconic, and has over 40 stores across the globe.

The latest branch of the teahouse is an exercise in breaking the monotony of the tea industry and shifting the perceptions of the modern urban denizen around the concept of tea. Utilising the buffer from the main road, the visitor is greeted by amphitheatre-like outdoor seating created with the help of the steps approaching the teashop entry.

The overall feeling is slightly repressive, I had a longing to see daylight, some greenery, and a connection with the greater outdoors to calm and slow the pace. I feel that the architects have missed a trick here (along with such dim lighting levels) and I wonder how long people will want to dwell in this retail monolith.
