The concise and clean layers with dynamic lighting effects emerge from the lively streets as a pure and dazzling scenery of Myeongdong. The central staircase upon entrance can quickly take the customer flow to the second floor, while defining a loop circulation for the ground floor, creating a more interesting shopping experience.

Architecture studio OMA has revealed images of the first completed part of its renovation of Berlin department store KaDeWe, a retail and event space connected by wood-clad escalators. ONS intends to use the stage space for hosting cultural events, such as exhibitions and pop-ups that it says will change regularly. To balance the dark colours and textures of the flooring the studio has inserted pops of colour using light blue tiles on the changing room pods and blue and green counter surfaces.
