Since Battersea Power Station reopened less than two years ago, major retailers have flocked to open innovative retail spaces and concepts. The wall display looks like mirror computer switchboards, the basin almost looks like a control desk and there’s a giant, orb-shaped light fixture above. Aesop was a personal favourite of mine.

Called Moniker Fashion Universe , the 1,500-metre-square concept store is located in the heart of Oslo's shopping district, near the newly renovated Valkyrien Square. The Moniker Sport section features curved stainless steel shelving (above) and a wall of patterned glass (top image). The other menswear zone pays homage to Paul Newman.

Dutch design office StudioMOM unveiled a compact modular transport concept powered by hydrogen. Also on display was the O – Floor Lamp by Job van den Berg that uses the Decospan Veneer and mimics the warmth of wood. Lastly, the studio has also developed a stamping technique for imprinting the stones with wave-like patterns.

The ‘sense of place’ branding and wayfinding developed by our graphics team gives the shop a contemporary feel along with a nod to the rich culture of Sri Lanka, using traditional patterns and textures.

These ‘heat zones’ fuse product display and content to provide canvases for brand activations, whilst drawing the consumers eye through the store, punctuating the space.
