Space-age design informs Nodaleto shoe store by Rafael de Cárdenas

French shoe brand Nodaleto has chosen Miami as the location of its first US store, which New York studio Rafael de Cárdenas designed with sci-fi-influenced red and chrome interiors. The shop opened in Miami Design District during the city's art week earlier this month, starting a two-year lease in the 1,000-square-metre space (10,764 feet).

Gary Card redesigns London's LN-CC store with orange tunnel and LED-lit club

Card , who designed the original interior of the east London store in 2011 , said the challenge for him was using the knowledge he has accumulated since then to create something new. Visitors enter via an orange wooden tunnel with an octagonal shape reminiscent of the architecture in director Stanley Kubrick 's film 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Gridded steel facade evokes bamboo forest at Hermès store in Tokyo

The 488-square-metre store is the first freestanding Hermès outlet in Tokyo since the brand opened its Ginza emporium in 2001, which was also designed by RDAI. Floors throughout the retail space are made from green stone in two shades, which is laid in a pattern resembling Japanese tatami mats. Top image: it has a gridded steel facade.
