Walnut cabinetry is used to display products on the main shop floor. The dark and atmospheric interior was designed to play with Aimé Leon Dore's vibrant colours and patterns while paying homage to the work of Austrian architect Adolf Loos , famous for designs including the Villa Müller in Prague and the American Bar in Vienna.

The Abu Dhabi Louvre’s giant domed canopy appears to float over a series of box structures containing curated objects and cultural stories. The retail space leans into this magical atmosphere, complementing it perfectly.

Lighting shaped like Roman arches and seating inspired by Classical Greek architecture were among works celebrating Greco-Roman aesthetics in the exhibition at Dutch Design Week this year. In 2018, it developed a dripping machine that combines industrial precision with human error to create repeat patterns with a “handmade” aesthetic.

As a retail design, the pop-up is only in situ for 6 weeks so the design is simple and the main features of the store are the colourfully curated rails of clothes, arranged around a large patterned sofa and Persian rug. Inside the seating area features high-backed red velvet upholstered sofas set into textured gold walls.
