The store's focal point is a red lacquered-metal spiral staircase The helical lacquered-metal form has solid balustrades and steps with a diamond-plate texture for added grip. Red was also applied selectively to interior elements, including a statement spiral staircase and a wall behind at the back of the store.

This is the coffee giant’s fifth Reserve Roastery worldwide, taking an approach of localisation to embrace local design while maintaining the characteristic features of their coffee shops across the globe. A focal point in the design is the spiral staircase placed against a backdrop of woven baskets that seamlessly connect the two floors.

Where the transaction was once the sole focal point of retail design, modern shopfitters and designers take the entire shopping experience into consideration: Someone glimpses a shop window and enters the shop, then browses and samples or tries on the merchandise, eventually making it to the counter and walking out with a purchase.

Situated on the third floor terrace above the Gucci store, visitors can dine at eye level with the tops of the palm trees that line the famous shopping strip. Located in exclusive Wilmslow, Cheshire, Black White Denim is another shop nailing the small clothing store design. My shop has become a bit of an extension of my home.
