It was developed by a team from TU Delft and is aimed at those struggling to fall asleep by helping to induce a slow, regular rhythm of breathing. Part pillow, part robot, the Somnox combats sleepless nights by “breathing” in and out as users hold it close. More cushions-innovation: the Alpha 2.0 Peace-inducing pillows.

Despite this, Scherer founded his own design studio and developed a series of aluminum furnishings including the Aluminum Table, which was nominated for the Design Prize of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2012. Characterised by the rhythm of its forms, the series infuses organic construction with a futuristic feel.
