Great Portland Estates PLC - Soft Styling

Making people feel welcome and at home…

It is important to start with the end user experience. Physical space is for creating a brand centre of excellence – a place where people can absorb the company culture and behaviour. Thinking from a leisure and hospitality perspective are invaluable now in approaching workplace design”

Michael Fern - Director, Edge

As part of our approach to help make people feel at home and welcome as they return to the office, Edge has been working alongside Great Portland Estates (GPE) to unlock the potential for several of its portfolio’s fully fitted, fully managed office spaces.

We are now seeing landlords building stronger relationships with tenants as direct customers and using measures such as the Net Promoter Score to evaluate and plan for workplace environments. We’re getting to a new way of evaluating space, looking outside the sector and doing pre-work that is about understanding the community, the audience.

Front of house service, experience and facilitation are three key elements for creating a space that provides the social glue, which absorbs the values of the brand and which fulfils the need to be in a particular location.

Sometimes it takes the small things in life, well curated, to help us make sense and feel welcome amongst the bigger things. It is a pleasure to work with GPE as our trusted partner on these projects, helping to source and curate elements to enhance the styling of a space - ‘bringing it to life’ we’ve been told.

For every space, the styling always needs to reflect the locale and the expected target typologies.
