The event is themed ‘One Family, One Vision’ and will feature a suppliers exhibition, presentations from Spar Scotland and key supplier partners, a live Q&A session, deals on the day for retailers, and ex-marine motivational speaker Andy Grant is booked to speak.

In addition, there will be video one-to-one meetings set up with independent retailers and company-owned store managers.

The presentations, which will be led by Spar Scotland chief executive Colin McLean, will provide actionable steps retailers can take to increase sales and profit, learn about the latest initiatives the company is planning, as well as hear from many guest speakers.

Mclean said: “Following on from the great success of our 2020 Spar Scotland virtual trade show and whilst it is pleasing to see current lockdown measures being eased, we still believe a virtual event is the best solution in the current climate. As we have stated many times throughout the last year, the safety and wellbeing of all attendees remains our number one priority. Feedback from our first virtual trade show held last November was excellent and as a result we have decided to go ahead with our second virtual event on 23 September.”

He added: “We are heavily investing in making this the biggest and best virtual trade show. Even when we move back to in-person events, it is great to know that we will have this opportunity to collaborate with our retailers and suppliers.”
