Initially launching with a Fruity and Zesty White, Light and Fruity Rosé and Juicy and Smooth Red, the alcohol-free wines are set to hit the shelves this January.

Broadland Drinks said the 0% wines are made with natural botanical flavours at its Norfolk winery and are vegan, gluten-free and less than 40 calories per serving.

Nicola Cannon, senior brand manager at Broadland Drinks, said: “Whilst it is younger consumers who are most likely to not drink alcohol, almost 40% of regular wine drinkers are actively moderating their consumption and seeking a great-tasting alternative.

“Caffeine and other soft drinks are not designed to target the same need state as alcohol; there’s very little choice for consumers looking for a great tasting, wine alternative.

“Compare the growth of alcohol-free wine with the -8% YoY (year-on-year) decline of total still wine and it becomes apparent how retailers can modify range to increase choice and optimize sales.”
