The new flavour retails at £2.05 for a 500ml bottle and £5 for a 4x330ml pack, featuring a limited edition design across its can and bottle formats.

The decision to launch a tropical flavour “comes as tropical tastes lead flavour trends across drinks categories”.

Kopparberg said the cider “bursts with the tastes of pineapple, passion fruit and mango” and provides a “delicious tropical twist to the iconic blackcurrant and raspberry Mixed Fruit, the brands second best-selling packaged cider in the market”.

The brand is also launching a 10x330ml cider variety pack, available to the Co-op group, including Nisa and Costcutter stores, retailing at £9.97.

The pack contains the new Mixed Fruit Tropical flavour, as well as Rose, Cherry, Strawberry & Lime and Mixed Fruit flavours.

Rob Salvesen, head of marketing at Kopparberg, said: “This new variant, based on a surge in demand for tropical flavours, is a twist on our hugely popular classic Mixed Fruit cider, which is already synonymous with summer.

“Partnered with our very first limited-edition bottles and cans, we know that this new variant will define that first sip of a truly unforgettable summer.”
