Midcounties Co-op highlights local produce in new click & collect service

The retailer says that the service will run across stores that cover Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire.

One of the ideas of the new service is to showcase the Co-op’s Best of Our Counties range, previously only available in larger stores, which features seasonal produce sourced from local farmers, suppliers and small food producers.

Rupert Newman, chief food retail officer at the Midcounties Co-op, said: “Customers are not only helping to support local suppliers and communities after what’s been a really difficult year, but they’re also helping to cut down thousands of food miles per year which has great environmental benefits too.”
