The political conference on 18 October will be held at One Great George St, Westminster and will bring together more than 200 retailers.

Themes include sustainability for local shops and the emerging politics that will affect stores as the pandemic recedes.

Page is well qualified to explore the changing political landscape as he has worked with both Conservative and Labour ministers in Downing Street in examining consumer trends and public behaviour.

Scully will speak at the parliamentary reception after the conference and present the Raj Aggarwal award for exceptional community retailing.

ACS chief executive James Lowman said: “This year’s Heart of the Community will bring together retailers, policy makers and thought leaders to explore the role of local shops in the community and wider economy and will look to the future about how upcoming policy changes will affect the sector.

“We are delighted that Ben Page will be addressing the conference to explore the changing political landscape and what this means for businesses and consumers.”
