Converse has released the limited-edition Upcycled Flannel Chuck 70s to meet customer demand for recyclable and ecological clothing.

The Converse Upcycled Flannel Chuck 70 was inspired by 90’s fashion and the classic Chuck Taylor All-Star.

Featuring the the Chuck 70 Hi in red and Ox in black, the uppers are constructed from pre-loved flannel shirts, with small differences in pattern and tones distinguishing each pair from the next. The design is reminiscent of the 1990s, complete with an embroidered Chuck Taylor ankle patch and unpolished foxing.

Each Converse Upcycled capsule attempts to represent the tradition of Converse and the tale of a pre-loved textile through footwear, drawing inspiration from the Converse archives.

Converse created a flannel pattern material palette and collaborated with long-term sourcing partner, UK-based fashion and vintage retailer Beyond Retro. According to the brand, each pre-loved flannel shirt yielded two pairs of Converse Upcycled Flannel Chuck 70s uppers.

The Converse Upcycled Flannel Chuck 70 is now available on the brand’s website.
