UK-based discount membership provider Blue Light Card has launched in Australia, to support frontline workers and first responders.

According to Blue Light Card, eligible customers can have access to discount deals, savings, incentives and experiences from leading national brands and regional companies. This is one of the company’s initiatives to aid frontline employees and their families in coping with the growing cost of living.

There are 50 major brand partners including Adrenaline, Angara, Apple, Banana Republic, Beginning Boutique, Ben Sherman, Boohoo, BoohooMan, Bugaboo, Check My Body Health and Donner Music.

The Blue Light Card was established in the UK in 2008 by CEO Tom Dalby and ex-police officer Steve Denny with the goal of expressing gratitude and addressing the ethical difficulty of frontline employees to accept discounts or savings.

“Officers couldn’t accept small discounts or free products due to organisational policies, but the community and local businesses overwhelmingly wanted to say thank you,” said Denny.

“Through Blue Light Card, we’re able to facilitate the public’s support for our frontline workers who often put themselves in harm’s way for people they don’t know,”

Frontline employees can register online at www.bluelightcard.com.au to become Blue Light Card members. A two-year membership costs $9.95.
