Australia’s “longest-running consumer fashion event” – the Paypal Melbourne Fashion Festival 2023 (MFF) – will return to the Royal Exhibition Building in March.

Now in its 27th year, the event provides a platform for emerging designers, creatives, writers and filmmakers to showcase their achievements.

Running from March 3-11, the festival will welcome about 3000 guests each night to the building’s reimagined fashion-forward social quarter, dubbed Fashion Forecourt. A series of 10 premium runway shows along with online events and intimate and exclusive industry gatherings will feature.

MFF CEO, Caroline Ralphsmith, said the organisers are “thrilled” to return to the Royal Exhibition Building after a two-year hiatus showcasing up-and-coming designers.

“Whilst festival favourites will return even better than ever, guests can also expect the unexpected with new programme elements and fashion experiences that have never been seen before at the PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival,” said Ralphsmith.

Brendan McClements, CEO of Visit Victoria, said the festival will attract thousands of visitors to the nation’s fashion capital next year.

“Visitors can expect to see the best in innovation and expression on the runway and throughout our creative city.”

During the Melbourne Fashion Festival 2023 the coveted National Designer Award (presented by David Jones) makes a return along with the Fashion Film Awards, the National Graduate Showcase, the PayPal Pay in 4 Bursary and the Fashion Writing Program.
