Bushbuck raising funds for an Australian expansion push

Following the success of fellow Kiwi outdoor brand Kathmandu, outdoor clothing brand Bushbuck is raising equity to speed up its expansion in Australia.

The company has already raised aroundd A$500,000 date via online crowdfunding platform Equitise and is looking to raise up to $1.8 million. 

Founded in 2012 by CEO Tim Dunn, Bushbuck is a hunting and outdoor brand that uses a direct-to-consumer business model. The Australian market currently accounts for 16 per cent of its sales, and the company aims to grow that to 38 per cent by 2025.

Since 2019, the business has grown revenue by 300 per cent, with $4.3 million achieved this year. 

“Beyond our unwavering commitment to quality and performance, Bushbuck’s mission is to push the limits of innovation and sustainability and make the journey into the outdoors more accessible, enjoyable and safe for all,” said the company.

The company’s growth strategy includes building brand awareness, developing new products, and expanding its team members. The brand is currently scouting for a chief marketing officer and a sales relationship manager. 

The company has a product pipeline including an ultra-lightweight puffer and vest, a rooftop awning system, and a new range of sleeping bags.

In addition, the company says its next step is to invest in its back office by implementing an enterprise resource planning system to support its growth ambitions. 

“We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved to date, but are just getting started,” said a company spokesperson.
