EDIT Napoli, a premier destination for editorial and authorial design lovers

The call for exhibitors is open – The fair is gearing up for its sixth yearly installment and is inviting designers, design authors, publishers, as well as firms and manufacturers, to join the next edition.

Now in its sixth year, EDIT Napoli – under the direction and curation of Emilia Petruccelli and Domitilla Dardi – has firmly established itself as a launchpad for its exhibitors, symbolically choosing the trampoline as the theme for its new visual campaign.

Capitalizing on the achievements of its 2023 edition (see our 2023 favorite projects here), which welcomed 100 exhibitors from national and international spheres, alongside a host of industry professionals and a large visitor turnout, the fair is rolling out a new call specifically for independent designers, design authors, publishers, as well as firms and manufacturers.

They are invited to present their newest products from October 11th to 13th, 2024, with an exclusive press preview on October 10th. This occasion will coincide with the EDIT CULT programme and a series of exhibitions showcasing cultural projects across the city.

This platform offers exhibitors the chance to directly engage with industry professionals, the media, and purchasers, while also opening doors for new business partnerships and broadening their market presence, including expansion beyond the Atlantic.

EDIT Napoli stands out for its ability to discover new brands and offer a platform for enhanced visibility to established companies, celebrated international designers, and creatives. It presents an opportunity for them to make a creative “leap” by engaging in special projects that, over the years, have transformed the event into a dynamic laboratory teeming with cross-pollination across time, blending elements of the past, present, and future.

This year, Seminario returns, a dedicated segment for young designers, craftsmen, and small enterprises initiated by entrepreneurs younger than 30 or created within the past three years. It’s a section that has become a pivotal platform for newcomers in the industry:

Reaching its sixth year signifies a new five-year chapter and reflects on the lessons from the first: EDIT Napoli, while not focusing on quantity, has seen its popularity rise, with exhibitor numbers growing by approximately 20% annually and public attendance increasing fivefold since its inception, making it a key date on the international design calendar.

The choice of Naples, initially seen as a gamble due to its location off the conventional design circuit, now underscores the city’s cultural diversity and dynamic vibrancy, already celebrated in art, cinema, music, and sports, as a vibrant hub for design, fostering a unique and diverse exchange platform.

Central to the fair’s ethos is the introduction of new products, underscored by the EDIT Napoli award for the best new project, evaluated by an international jury of notable figures. Both companies and designers increasingly opt for Naples to launch their innovations, recognizing the value of being part of a selective and well-curated event that attracts professional attention.

This focus is on quality products and projects that are unique yet scalable, characterized by slow, sustainable production with a short and transparent supply chain.

For the 2024 edition, Naples, with its iconic sites and rich culture, aims to continue being at the forefront of fostering projects and collaborations that have, for six years, brought together creatives from around the globe into a cohesive community centered around EDIT Napoli.

Since its beginning, it has not only welcomed but also involved renowned companies and authors like Astrid Luglio, Margherita Rui, Serena Confalonieri, and international designers such as Constance Guisset and Studio Zeta, alongside CULT project luminaries like Michele De Lucchi, Jaime Hayon, and Patricia Urquiola, illustrating its significant role in the global design scene.
