louis vuitton has reopened a newly designed store spanning seven floors in tokyo’s ginza district. the previously existing location has been completely transformed by jun aoki and peter marino. inspired by the reflections of water, aoki and his firm were responsible for the building’s curving and rippling exterior that creates a three-dimensional effect. this aesthetic is enhanced by dichroic glass that produces endless color variations.

inside the building designed by jun aoki, peter marino’s interiors seek to emphasize the building’s organic appearance. the focal point of louis vuitton’s new ginza namiki store is a central staircase of sculptured oak bordered by glass. meanwhile, acting as an uplifting and inspiring theme, color is used throughout in many different forms. the acidic hues of pierre paulin and stefan leo’s furniture are complemented by a four-story feature wall showcasing a reinterpretation of a kimiko fujimura painting.

the visitor experience culminates on the top level in ‘Le Café V’, where celebrated chef yosuke suga collaborates for the second time with the maison. the store presents the full women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and leather collections, accessories, jewelry, watches, fragrances, iconic travel sets, objets nomades and louis vuitton city guides. in addition, the venue will also showcase exclusive pieces, including the men’s LV ollie sneaker embellished with pearls.
