The Port of Leith Distillery are researching a new frontier in Scotch whisky production, assembling the finest raw materials and casks from across the globe, and constructing a remarkable new distillery in Scotland’s capital city. To support this dream, they have launched The Quality Control Division.

A founders’ club like no other.

The team at the distillery think that the most exciting place in any distillery is the samples room. Scores of samples collected by the warehouse team for quality control on the maturation of their spirits. What whisky fan doesn’t dream about access to a place like that?

No other whisky distillery in Scotland offers an opportunity like this to follow the evolution of a whisky from start to finish. In 2021 they took two of their most exciting yeasts strains and distilled a full batch of spirit with each of them, using the stills at The Glasgow Distillery. From this came their first spirits, and these are available exclusively as the first package in an 8 year membership to The Quality Control Division – an 8 year subscription to the sample room of the distillery.

The QC Division allows the distillery’s customers to feel like part of the team. The package includes items from the Uniforms Division (t-shirt) and the Stationary Division (notebook). This same utilitarian approach can be seen in the graphic language of strong angular typography using a custom typeface and the bold orange of the distillery’s brand colour.
