H&M Angel Central “will create a welcoming, modern and meaningful shopping experience where style, creativity and culture are celebrated,” says H&M UK & IE Expansion Manager, Christopher Clare. “Through introducing new services, like click and collect lockers and self-service checkouts, we hope to create a seamless customer experience within our Angel Central store.”

Founded in Sweden in 1947, H&M opened its first U.K. store in 1976. Over forty years later, H&M’s U.K. and Ireland portfolio has grown to include more than 200 stores. Customers visiting the new Angel Central store will notice a warmer, more welcoming interior and relaxed environment, and a lower volume of products which will be displayed in a curated and inspirational way.

With sustainability at the heart of its business model, H&M continues to lead the transition to circular, climate positive fashion. These values will be built into the foundation of the new Islington store which offers H&M’s Garment Collection and Recycling service. Launched in 2013, H&M’s Garment Collection and Recyling scheme allows customers to donate any unwanted clothes and textiles, by any brand, whilst shopping in-store. All donated items are recycled with 0% going to landfill.

To encourage customers to use their Garment Collection programme, H&M offer Conscious Points in addition to a digital voucher. The H&M garment collecting scheme is just one example of the many projects H&M has implemented to lead the change towards 100% circularity.

Christopher Clare, Expansion Manager for H&M U.K. & Ireland, continues: “We are beyond excited to bring our much-loved H&M HOME concept to our Angel Central store and customers. We always listen to our customers when designing new stores and considering concepts and services. So, not only will customers be able to enjoy new curated collections and spaces where style, creativity and culture are celebrated, but they can access new services which put our customer shopping experience first. We cannot wait to welcome our Angel Central customers to the store!”

Ciara Daffy, Asset Manager at CBRE Investment Management, commented on the refurbishment: “H&M has been an important retail anchor at Angel Central for many years, and has built a solid foundation within the community of Islington. The brand’s refurbishment elevates the store with a refreshed interior and enhanced customer experience, and its emphasis and focus on sustainability very much mirrors the ethos of Angel Central. We’re confident that this brand will continue to thrive and prosper within our revitalised scheme.”
