Construction of the $50 million District Outlet Centre (DOC) in Adelaide’s north has commenced, within the commercial precinct of Parafield Airport.

High-profile brands including Puma, Sketchers and Timberland have been confirmed in the initial list of tenants.

The 15,000sqm development will be the city’s only under-cover outlet shopping centre, home to 45 local, national and international brands on a single floor.

Executive GM of property at Parafield Airport, James Sangster, said the project would provide a “significant boost” for economic growth in the northern suburbs.

“The DOC sits within our rapidly growing commercial precinct which is home to a variety of other retail and commercial businesses,” said Sangster.

The centre was designed by Intro Architects and is being constructed by South Australian engineering and fabrication company Ahrens.

Brett Lovett, director of Devwest Development, said the centre offers a ‘racetrack’ design to offer a streamlined and easy shopping experience.

The centre will open to the public in the first half of next year.
