Retail to reopen in NSW on October 11

Inside Retail

Vaccinated residents in New South Wales will be able to travel, head to the pub, and, importantly, do as much non-essential shopping as they like as soon as October 11, according to state premier Gladys Berejiklian. Retailers will still be subject to density limits, but will able to open their doors for the first time in months after the delta strain of Covid-19 surfaced in the state in June.

As a part of “Belgium is design”, Jimmy De Angelis presented “Nest” at Fuorisalone 2021

Design Wanted

Jimmy De Angelis navigates between art, technology and sciences to offer different products, such as the floor lamp Nest is. As humans, we have a fundamental attraction to light. It’s called phototropism and on a very basic level, it is about vision. Like moths to a flame, we drift towards areas that are bright or well-lit, a simple instinct that designers—like Jimmy de Angelis—can use to draw our attention to a space.

After a period of months where it looked like sales were slowly but surely building a head of steam, governments suddenly slapped them down again with some of the tightest restrictions the world has endured during the past 18 mo
