Big 5 Sporting Goods Being Acquired

Big 5 Sporting Goods Corp. (El Segundo, Calif.) has entered a definitive merger agreement to be bought by a partnership involving Worldwide Golf (Santa Ana, Calif.) and Capitol Hill Group (Bethesda, Md.). The all-cash transaction for the 414-store chain is valued at about $112.7 million, including the assumption of $71.4 million in credit line borrowings as of June 29, the companies said in a news release.
