Star Pharmacy names new CEO

Star Pharmacy Group has appointed Peter Piliouras as the new CEO of its national pharmacy business. The group incorporates its own national brand, Star Discount Chemist and a number of Priceline Pharmacies and independent stores. Piliouras was formerly the COO and CCO at Peregrine Corporation, managing 250 stores and more than 3000 employees. He has 25 years of leadership experience in convenience retail.

Kathryn Patton-Miller, RDI, was elected International Vice President. Miller is currently president of the Atlanta | Southeast Chapter and senior design director at RetailOne, based in Dallas, Ga.

Coles Group to sell convenience store business to fuel partner Viva Energy

Coles Group is to sell its fuel and convenience business to listed Viva Energy for $300 million in a deal which will have to first satisfy the competition regulator and gain foreign investment approval.
