Malaysian halal quick service restaurant Marrybrown has opened its first outlet in Australia, at Melbourne’s Burwood Shopping Centre.

The global chain sells a variety of meals including crispy fried chicken, burgers and specialty wraps in Western and Malaysian flavours.

It will also be offering Malaysian dishes such as curry rice, fried rice with in-house crispy chicken and nasi lemak.

Dato’ Joshua, CEO at Marrybrown, said the brand chose the location due to the high concentration of students living in the area.

“Our goal has always been to bring joy to people through good food, and we believe that our signature dishes, including our crispy chicken, will be a hit with both Australian and Malaysian customers.”

The retailer plans to open two more restaurants in the Melbourne CBD – at Swanston Street and Crown Casino – before the end of the year.
