Nina Ricci is closing its Paris boutique flagship as the retailer transitions to a digital focus, reports WWD. The store opened in 1979 and will be taken over by Paco Rabanne.

Ricci said in a statement to WWD: “Given a very unstable worldwide situation and ‘new normal’ stakes, we made the bold choice to accelerate Nina Ricci’s new vision processes, which will be all about one brand, digital first and approachable luxury.”

Creative Directors Lisi Herrebrugh and Rushemy Botter of Nina Ricci told WWD that the retailer plans to roll out its “digital creative direction” this fall.
