Luxury fashion retailer Acne Studios has reopened its Bourke Street store in Melbourne following extensive renovations, almost doubling its footprint to 215sqm.

The new store features minimalist design cues with muted colour interiors and blue canvas dye furniture designed by Max Lamb. The structure is complemented by a central mirrored cube service counter and light installations by Benoit Lalloz.

“My job is to allow customers to have the best possible visual experience, in order to read and discover the works,” said Lalloz.

An additional lounge and fitting room are tucked away from the main open space of the store providing an “intimate atmosphere” and some privacy for clients.

The brand has also collaborated with Parisian-born artist Martin Laborde for its Fall/Winter 2022 women’s collection. His works feature images and objects resurrected as surreal “paintings”.

The new collection will feature prints of horses, flowers and fruits on various pieces. The range includes a long green satin slip dress with tie-up straps, sky blue lurex t-shirts, white satin shirt, pale blue mesh polo neck, oversized green hoodie, white long sleeve t-shirt, short sleeve t-shirt in pink or white, cropped white top, white trousers and square silk scarf.
