Starbucks to Raise Wages for U.S. Baristas

Starbucks (Seattle) announced plans to raise wages for its U.S. baristas to $15 an hour by summer 2022, CNBC reports. The company is also planning to add recruiters across its U.S. markets as well as offer $200 bonuses for referrals.

By late January, baristas who have worked at Starbucks for two years will receive a raise of up to 5 percent, while those with five years at the company could get as much as a 10 percent raise.

A second increase by summer 2022 will bring the pay floor up to $15 with an average wage of $17 an hour. Some employees may be able to make up to $23 an hour in some markets.
