Last Summer, A-COLD-WALL* launched its first overseas store in Beijing, and now, with high hopes for the Chinese market, a second retail space has launched in the country’s leading fashion and lifestyle hub Shanghai. Founder Samuel Ross cleverly picked a location at Taikoo Li Qiantan, the fav shopping grounds of the city’s Millennial and Gen Z demographics. The store occupies a 106 sqm. (1,141 sq.ft.) unit and features an interior design by Ross which takes cues from the design codes applied by two iconic British architects, Richard Rogers and Owen Luder. The shop façade is captured by bright blue-coated steel and signals the chosen aesthetic from afar. An all-blue corridor serves as an entrance and leads into the A-COLD-WALL* store where shoppers find a voluminous open space with steel shelving, large ceiling light panels, and as an incongruously artsy element, a monolithic coke wood sculpture embedded in a little Zen-inspired pebble garden. The new A-COLD-WALL* store carries the brand’s full range of men’s apparel, accessories, bags and shoes.
