Bluewater signs multiple local independent brands to new ‘Produced in Kent’ store concept

Landsec has announced a new retail concept for Bluewater, which will showcase an array of independent brands within a dedicated space. The project is a partnership between Landsec , the local trade organisation, Produced in Kent, and its members. The new space will serve as a destination for Bluewater’s guests to sample some of the best produce from across the region.

The sad news came earlier this week of the death of Nicholas Thirkell, my old business partner, colleague and friend. I’d known him since the late 1960s, when we were both art directors in the publishing world. I was impressed with what he was doing over at Macmillan, so we met for a drink. Nick (as I always called him) cut a rather dashing figure: he was tall and rather aloof, with a well honed RP accent – think BBC continuity department and you’ll have it.

Driver shortage to worsen as licence holders look to leave the sector, survey reveals

Nearly a quarter of lorry drivers expect to leave the industry in the next three years, according to the largest ever survey of HGV drivers.
