Dan Murphy’s kicks off hiring week with ‘on-the-spot’ job interviews

Gearing up for summer – and the peak Christmas season – liquor retailer Dan Murphy’s is set to hire more than 2200 staff this week via “on-the-spot” job interviews in stores.

From today until September 11, interested applicants can get a 10-minute interview by simply expressing their interest to a team member at any of the company’s 258 stores nationwide.

“We wanted to make it as easy as possible for people interested in a career with Dan Murphy’s to get a foot in the door,” explained Agi Pfeiffer-Smith, incoming MD at Dan Murphy’s.

The majority of roles are at least 20 hours per week, offer immediate starts, and come with many benefits, says the company.

“Hiring week is also a great way for applicants to engage directly with the store manager and to see for themselves if they think they would enjoy working in the store and with the team,” she added.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have an “extraordinary passion” for customer service. According to the retailer, having an RSA certification is not required as the company will provide the training and pay for it.

“We are encouraging people from all walks of life to consider spending a summer with Dan; from university students to retirees who are looking to fill in a few hours a day or a few days a week, and everyone in between,” said Pfeiffer-Smith.

Dan Murphy’s has an estimated 670 roles available in NSW, 570 in Qld, 530 in Vic, 280 in WA and 140 in SA.
