Barry Nisan, owner of Epic Cycles, reached out to Figure3 to help open his new concept store in downtown Toronto, and reshape the overall retail experience for urban cyclist customers. Ultimately selecting a storefront in the favoured Junction neighbourhood, Figure3 set to work providing smart cost-effective, yet ownable retail design solutions to set Epic Cycles apart from the typical bike shop standard: rows upon rows of crowded inventory.

Designed with the customer experience top of mind, the interior features clean lines from hardwood floors and brick walls, with industrial metal fixtures and accents. Figure3 worked directly with the fixture manufacturer to create custom racks for the product inventory, pulling unique bikes out to help feature a highlighted display shelf along the wall. By categorizing the inventory into groupings and displaying with dedicated header style signage boards, e-bikes and e scooters are easily identifiable for customers making their way through the store, enabling them to make a confident and educated purchase.

Two hero towers were introduced, primarily to highlight and engage bike demonstrations, but also to allow for more breathing space within the store circulation. The custom vignettes add contrast to the brick walls, putting every part and frame in full view, allowing customers to visually appreciate and understand the advantages of the e-bike features.

Accessories were placed along the opposite wall starting from the entrance of the store using the same categorization strategy as the e-bikes; and also featuring header signage to ensure ease of shopping and overall cohesion. Figure3 opted for the repair shop (found at the rear of the store) to be open and exposed to the retail floor–signaling that Epic Cycles stands behind their products and expertise to fully support the customer experience, end to end.
