Mah-Ze-Dahr bakery’s new Washington, D.C., location is outfitted in the brand’s signature deep blues and soft grays amid its marble decor. Seats at the counter invite guests to enjoy a coffee or espresso made from La Colombe beans paired with one of the brand’s notoriously decadent pastries. Founded by investment banker-turned-pastry chef Umber Ahmad, this second of three planned locations features a 20-foot-tall beaded curtain that beautifully diffuses the natural light pouring into the space. Created by operator Knead Hospitality + Design (Washington, D.C.) in conjunction with architecture and design firm //3877 (Washington, D.C.).
