Toxic chemicals found in Shein products, breach EU regulations

Products shipped cross-border by Chinese online fast-fashion giant Shein have been found to contain toxic chemicals at rates twice the level allowed under EU regulations, according to a report prepared by Greenpeace in Germany. “Shein’s business model relies on the lack of enforcement of regulations designed to protect the environment, and the health and safety of workers and consumers, as the company routinely violates laws,” said the organisation.

Oroton Group boosts profits as growth strategy kicks in

Work on the first phase of the development – dubbed The Mix and located about 30 miles north of downtown Dallas – will start later this month. H&M to Slice 1500 Jobs in Restructuring Effort

H&M Group (Stockholm) says a previously disclosed global program to reduce costs and improve efficiency is expected to result in a restructuring charge of roughly $75 million in its fourth quarter of 2022. A major part of that effort involves reducing its current staff of about 155,000 by 1500. In addition, the fashion retailer estimates this effort will result in annual savings of around $190 million, which it says is expected to “become visible” in the second half of 2023.
