Amazon to Hire 150,000 Seasonal Workers

The e-commerce giant says “many” of these positions will become full-time

In preparation for a busy holiday shopping season, Amazon (Seattle) plans to hire 150,000 seasonal workers, reports CBS.

Workers will be paid an average of $18 per hour, with another $3 per hour paid for overnight and weekend shifts. Signing bonuses up to $3000 are also available depending on location.

Hiring will be nationwide, with 23,000 workers to be brought on in California, 6200 in Arizona and 4500 in Illinois. “Many” of the seasonal hires will become full-time workers, according to Amazon.
