French hypermarket retailer Carrefour (Massy, France) is planning to sell its Taiwan business, valued at about $1.9 billion, reports Reuters. Morgan Stanley will supervise the sale, which is expected to be announced this fall.

Carrefour has reported approached various potential buyers, including private equity, to get a sense of interest. In June, the retailer said it was considering consolidation, divestitures or partnerships. It reported approximately $1.5 billion in net sales in Taiwan in the first half of 2021, up 13 percent year over year.
