Sydney shoppers don’t need to wear masks starting today

Customers in Greater Sydney shopping instore will no longer be required to wear masks, despite the fact the ‘missing link’ case has yet to be found, according to NSW Health. In an announcement revealing the extension of most of the city’s restrictions, NSW Health said as of Monday 10th, shoppers are no longer required to wear face masks – though public-facing retail staff must continue to do so.

Retail sales slip in March quarter: ABS

Retail sales fell 0.5 per cent during the March quarter 2021, following the 2.4 per cent rise seen in the December quarter, according to new data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics. The result was driven by a continued return to normality, said ABS director of quarterly economy wide surveys Ben James. “The quarterly volume fall was driven by households spending patterns gradually returning to those seen before Covid-19,” James explained.
