Third McDonald’s franchisee faces court over workplace breach allegations

A third South Australian McDonald’s franchisee is facing allegations of workplace breaches in the Federal Court as the South Australian Branch of the SDA – the union for fast food workers – lodges a landmark case. The SDA is acting on behalf of 25 current and former McDonald’s workers and alleges that franchisee IA & DM Robson Pty Ltd deliberately denied workers paid rest and drink breaks.

Accent Group distribution rights grow with Next Athleisure, Glue buy up

Woolies removes 9,000 tonnes of plastic from circulation

Woolworths Group claims to have removed 9,000 tonnes of plastic packaging from circulation across Australia as a result of its sustainability plan. According to the supermarket group, its ‘sustainable packaging team’ is working across the group’s Own Brand and fresh ranges to remove plastic altogether, or reduce the amount used. Packaging has been changed in more than 550 products.

Temple & Webster opens personalised distribution centre in Victoria

Online furniture and homewares business Temple & Webster has opened a personalised, 12,800 square metre fulfilment centre in Victoria, designed specifically to handle storage of its goods. Developed in partnership with eStore Logistics, the distribution centre will launch in two phases, with the second phase to go live in September 2022 and open up an additional 11,952 square metres of space.
