About 60 people at Kohl’s (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) corporate headquarters have lost their jobs, according to published reports in several publications and news sites, including Retail Dive. Information on how many workers are left at the department store chain’s HQ was not immediately available.

“Kohl’s reorganized parts of our organization to drive greater efficiency in our operations. These efforts, which primarily impacted marketing and merchandising teams, reorganized some leadership roles and positions, including the elimination of less than 60 positions,” a Senior VP of Corporate Communications said in a statement released to BI.

The layoffs come as Kohl’s – which operates more than 1100 stores in 49 states – is searching for a new CEO.
