Sports footwear and apparel manufacturer New Balance has opened its first Grey Store in the Southern Hemisphere – at Sydney’s The Galeries shopping centre.

The store offers ‘Made in USA’ and ‘Made in UK’ collections as well as first access to new collabs and merchandise drops, with 80 per cent of the products available exclusively at the location.

“The Galeries Grey Store has been designed to provide a high-end, luxe retail experience in the heart of Sydney and we can’t wait to see the reception from our loyal fans, sneaker enthusiasts and fashion lovers,” said Jonathan Clark, New Balance’s Asia Pacific DTC director.

“As an Australian first, the Galeries Grey store will have all the classic New Balance favourites including the 550’s, 990’s and 2002’s – as well as some of our newer products, like the futuristic WRPD shoe.”

The Boston-based company has also launched a limited-edition fragrance range Distilled to commemorate the opening of its Galeries Grey Store. Perfume Playground founder and Australian fragrance expert Samantha Copland partnered with the brand to curate the scents.

New Balance recorded worldwide sales of US$5.3 billion last year. The firm owns five factories in New England and one in Flimby, the UK.
