Nike is to open its latest retail concept, Nike Unite, at Blanchardstown Centre, Ireland’s largest retail and leisure destination.

It will be Ireland’s first Nike Unite store, growing the brand’s presence from its two existing Nike Factory Stores in Dublin and Kildare. Nike Unite will open in Spring 2023.

The Nike Unite community-centred concept is focused on helping local people connect with sport and will feature an in-store community wall highlighting local partnerships, landmarks and Dublin athletes. The store will stock Nike’s sports, fashion and footwear range for men, women, teens and kids.

The iconic brand is the world’s largest supplier of athletic apparel and footwear and a major manufacturer of sports equipment with annual revenue in excess of $46 billion in 2021. It employs over 79,000 people worldwide and celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

The new Nike Unite store will cover 10,300 sq ft and will occupy a prime position on Level One of the centre, close to UK luxury fashion retailer Flannels, which is set to open a new 43,000 sq ft department store in December – its first store in Ireland.

Blanchardstown Centre is Dublin’s largest retail and leisure destination, covering over 1.1 million sq ft. The centre acts as a key community focal point and attracts high visitor numbers from Dublin and surrounding counties, with an annual footfall of over 16 million. The centre has benefitted from an extension and extensive refurbishment process over the last 2 years, with further spend planned. The work involved a full mall upgrade.

Pat Nash Managing Director at Falcon AM, asset managers for Blanchardstown Centre, commented:

“The arrival of Nike Unite will further enhance our existing tenant mix, keeping our offer compelling for visitors and brands alike – reinforcing Blanchardstown Centre’s position as Ireland’s pre-eminent out of town shopping location.

“Nike Unite is the latest in a string of high-profile leasing deals for the centre – reflecting continued confidence in physical retail, as well as positive sentiment across the Irish market more broadly. With consistently high occupancy rates and healthy footfall levels, major Irish retail assets like Blanchardstown are really ‘bucking the trend’ at present – providing a direct contrast to the picture across much of Europe.”

Sharon Walsh, Falcon AM’s Leasing Director added:

“The clustering of Nike with JD, Lifestyle, Footlocker and Elvery’s will ensure Blanchardstown will have an unrivalled mix of the leading sports apparel and sports footwear retailers.

“The new store’s community focus also speaks directly to our ethos here at the centre, and we know our customers will be incredibly excited to visit.”

Colliers and Bannon are the retained leasing teams for the Blanchardstown Centre.
