Mirvac Retail relaunches family program, Together + Co.
Property group Mirvac Retail is relaunching its inclusive family program, now known as Together + Co, across its shopping centres across Australia.
Together + Co is a reiteration of the former Mums&Co program launched in 2016, focusing on families at different stages of their lives. Member events include Tots Together Tuesdays for parents and carers, who can enjoy a free cup of coffee and mingle with like-minded people. Kids and tweens can enjoy a range of tutorials and activities, while mental health events have been created for teens and young adults. Even families with ‘fur babies’ have been included in the renewed program.
“We have big plans for Together + Co to be a valuable and evolving platform for coming together, creating, learning, mental health support and for fun,” said Nicole Addinall, Mirvac’s national manager of brand and programs, commercial property. “We also understand that our customers’ needs extend beyond the walls of our centres and so we are developing the program to provide tools, activities even virtual events that can be accessible from the home or anywhere outside our physical retail spaces.”
To celebrate the reimagined Together + Co, Just for Fun events will take place in centres during the school holidays, specifically tailored according to the lifestyles of their customer bases. These range from taco bowl making at Cherrybrook Shopping Centre in New South Wales to a DJ workshop at Toombul Shopping Centre in Queensland, and more.
Yamanto Central opens ahead of schedule
Yamanto Central shopping centre in Ipswich, Queensland, opened its doors ahead of schedule, on April 8. The official launch of the shopping centre will take place in the middle of the year, when it will also open its outdoor dining destination.
“Oddly, Covid has provided us with a novel set of circumstances,” said JMK Retail general manager Vicki Leavy. “It has enabled our team of builders to fast-track development and construct the centre at a cracking pace well ahead of our original schedule. Conversely, smaller non-essential businesses have been forced into a tailspin, giving them no option but to redirect all of their human resources and efforts towards dealing with Covid-related impacts, which has affected their opening progress.”
According to JMK Retail, Yamanto Central will be the biggest community hub in the region and will feature a mix of lifestyle, health, wellness, service and retail offerings. These include fitness centres, a medical centre, pharmacy, grocery, fashion and specialty stores.
