Online fashion retailer Shein has turned its Shein X Challenge 2024 into a global competition in response to the overwhelming demand from designers around the world.

The competition is an initiative under the Shein X Designer Incubator Program, which has grown to more than 4600 designers and artists from around the world since its first launch in 2021.

Unlike last year’s edition, which was only open to submissions from EU member states and the UK, this year’s Shein X Challenge will accept submissions from global participants.

Aspiring designers will need to submit three complete Spring Summer 2024 women’s looks to the competition’s website before the end of February 15.

Eligible submissions will be published on the website where members of the public can vote for their favourite, with the top 20 advancing to the second round.

The judges will then select the 10 finalists based on the participant’s ability to translate an original concept into design, while balancing customer demands, seasonal trends, and commercial viability.

The winners will be announced in March, and the competition will conclude with a runway show that will be streamed for global audiences.
