MIFF 2024 concluded, attracting a higher number of international buyers

From March 1 to 4, Malaysian International Furniture Fair provided a platform for a record 715 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions.

MIFF 2024 experienced a significant increase in appeal, welcoming 5,419 international visitors from 120 countries and regions, marking a 6% rise from the previous year and achieving a record US$1.28 billion in orders. Malaysian International Furniture Fair, Southeast Asia’s most extensive B2B furniture trade show and office furniture showroom, also serves as Malaysia’s largest export platform for wooden furniture products.

The show saw a 68% attendance increase from the rapidly expanding Asian market, followed by North America, Europe, and Oceania, with first-time visitors constituting 43% of the total 19,213 attendees. This year, the exhibition featured a diverse range of exhibitors from Malaysia, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Türkiye, Vietnam, the UAE, and the US.

The 100,000 sqm exhibition space at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) and World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) was filled with contemporary office and lifestyle furniture. Enhancements such as the new MIFF Furniverse app improved the visitor experience, enabling attendees to navigate the venue, connect with exhibitors, and stay updated on event activities. Additionally, MIFF introduced a virtual tree campaign, pledging to plant a real tree for every six virtual trees planted by attendees.

Returning for its 15th year, Spring Art Industries, represented by Terence Tee, expressed satisfaction with MIFF 2024’s consistent ability to generate revenue and sales. Oasis Furniture Industries echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the serious nature of the buyers and the event’s focus on Malaysian-made products.

First-time visitors, including Mathilde Le Villain from the UK, Muhammed Shaheer PM from India, and Jeffrey Matloff from the US, shared positive feedback about their experiences, highlighting the quality of products and the welcoming nature of suppliers.

Regular attendee Soufian Omar from Algeria noted the competitive quality and value at MIFF, praising the event’s hospitality and expressing confidence in returning each year.
