Waverley Mills has launched the Tasmanian Wilderness collection, featuring luxurious wool throws made from 100 per cent natural and sustainable Australian wool.

The wool throws are composed of 70 per cent new wool for durability and softness and 30 per cent recycled wool including offcuts and unused fibre from manufacturing traditionally dumped to landfills.

In collaboration with designers Rina Bernabei and Kelly Freeman, the collection has three Tasmanian landscape-inspired designs namely Bay of Fire, Tarkine Forest, and Cradle Mountain.

“This collection has been three years in the making, with extensive research and development by our team and a multi-million dollar investment in new manufacturing equipment,” said Waverley Mills CEO Dave Giles-Kaye.

“Unlike other recycled throws that are a mix of natural and manmade fibres, the Tasmanian Wilderness Collection is all natural; a first of its kind in the Australian textiles industry.”
