Retail Insider ‘Transforming Retail Awards’ 2021 launched

Retail Insider, the influential retail blog edited by award-winning journalist Glynn Davis, is calling for entries to its 2021 Awards dedicated to digital and technological innovation.

Retail Insider is proud to launch its fifth ‘Transforming Retail’ Awards after the successes of recent years. The aim of these awards is to highlight the best examples of innovation in retail technology right across the sector. These have been very challenging times for retailers and we feel there is no better way to highlight those who have risen to that challenge – the judges are looking forward to receiving your entries.

Over the past year it is clear Covid-19 has highlighted how retailers are overwhelmingly quick to adapt and innovate in the face of a crisis. Our Awards have always been designed to showcase the best examples of forward thinking in retail across the sector and this year’s Awards will fully illustrate just how retailers all over the country have accepted and met the challenges that the pandemic has thrown at them.

Our Awards this year will therefore feature five categories: ‘Most Promising Newcomer of the Year’, ‘Delivery Innovation of the Year’, ‘Most Intelligent Use of Data’, ‘Contribution to Sustainability’ and ‘Best Connected Experience’.

We know the retail sector is always full of energy, ideas and creativity and we want to give you the opportunity to publicise what you have been doing during the last year to innovate in your particular field.

Entry applications will be judged by an independent panel of experts chosen by Glynn Davis.  The full judging line-up is to be confirmed but will include: Clodagh Moriarty, retail and digital director at Sainsbury’s; Aron Gelbard, CEO of Bloom & Wild; Paul Wilkinson, senior product manager for Alexa shopping at Amazon; Martin Newman, founder of Customer First Group; Lawrence Shaw, CEO of Sitemorse; Sarah McVittie, co-founder of Dressipi; and Dave Elston, digital consultant.

Entrants are only allowed to enter two categories and both entries must be different. There is no cost attached to entering.

The process for applying is very simple and is outlined in the entry forms and category criteria. Entry form/more information is available from Retail Insider – please email Christina@busicomm.co.uk with any questions or requests for entry forms.

Deadline for entries is 16 July 2021 Shortlisted entries will be notified in late August 2021. The announcement of the winners will then take place at an evening event to be held on a date TBC in late-October 2021 to which all shortlisted entrants and sponsors will be invited along with other senior executives in the retail industry.

We look forward to receiving your entries.
